Ashton, a Madison County native, found his passion for HVAC during high school, thanks to the guidance of his construction teacher. During a career fair, various trade companies visited the school, providing students with opportunities to explore different industries. When Ashton asked his teacher for advice on what he should pursue after graduation, the teacher recommended HVAC with Stanfield Air Systems. This advice turned out to be life-changing, as Ashton quickly fell in love with the industry.

Since June 2020, Ashton has been part of the Stanfield team, making this his fifth year in the field. His role has allowed him to meet new people daily, build relationships with customers, and travel from job to job, diagnosing various issues and enjoying the diversity of work. What stands out the most to him, however, is the unique work environment at Stanfield. The camaraderie among colleagues, the supportive atmosphere, and the humor that fills the workplace all make it a great workplace.

One of the key milestones in Ashton’s career was his involvement in the Work-Based Learning Program during his senior year of high school. He first worked with Stanfield during the summer between his junior and senior years as an intern, delivering parts and shadowing technicians and installation crews. This hands-on experience gave him valuable insight into the HVAC industry. When the school year began, Ashton joined the Work-Based Learning Program, allowing him to work with Stanfield during the afternoons. By December of his senior year, he was promoted to part-time maintenance technician. This rise paved the way for his transition into a full-time service technician position after graduation.

Outside of work, Ashton stays active as a volunteer firefighter and enjoys riding motorcycles, camping at the lake, and spending time with friends and family. His advice to students considering a career in the trades is simple: “Do it! At least give it a try. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get hands-on experience and make connections while still in school.”
