Originally from Oglethorpe Country, Carrie Grimes-Skinner has worked at Stanfield Air Systems for four years. She started as an Administrative Assistant and now works as our Dispatch & Parts Coordinator, ensuring our technicians have what they need to make repairs and keep air systems running smoothly.
When asked why she wanted to work in heating and air conditioning, Carrie said, “I was familiar with the service industry and had a work history in customer service. Once I learned of a position opening in the office, I applied. Even though I had no experience as an administrative assistant, Mrs. Terri decided to take a chance on me. I am so happy she did!”
Working in HVAC parts and dispatch is a fast-paced environment that has allowed Carrie to build on her technical knowledge of HVAC systems. Carrie is great under pressure and a natural problem solver, which are skills that she gets to use daily.
Carrie loves the team aspect of Stanfield’s workforce. She counts her co-workers as her lifelong friends, and she is even married to another Stanfield staff member, Drew Skinner, a duct cleaning and indoor air quality technician.
When asked about the team environment and friendships at Stanfield, Carrie remembers when her Stanfield family took care of her in an emergency. After work one day in 2022, she left to go to her daughter’s softball game and got into a pretty
serious car accident. She was very shaken, but help was on the way. Mrs. Terri, Stanfield’s bookkeeper, was taking the same route home, so when she saw Carrie on the side of the road, she stopped to check. About 10 minutes later, they were joined by Rex and Nathan Coker. They stayed with Carrie on the side of the bypass until everything was
taken care of, and Carrie was in an ambulance.
Carrie said, “I don’t know if I ever expressed how much that truly meant. It really spoke volumes about the type of man Rex Coker is. He truly cares. He cares about every single one of his employees, and it doesn’t go unnoticed.”
Carrie enjoys cooking for her family outside of work, a passion that runs in her family. Her mom and dad can “throw down” in the kitchen. When she’s not cooking, you can find Carrie spending time with her family and their three dogs.
